Hello everyone! I have been promoted to Bureaucrat, and my first action is to update the rules of this wiki.
Starting now, pages must have a minimum of 2 paragraphs and either an image or a description of the subject, and the rules regarding stolen content now officially extend to artwork. What this means is that short pages lacking content are no longer allowed, and, more notably for many users, pages containing artwork traced or recolored from other people's atwork--including screenshots from the show--must have their images replaced.
On the Image Changes
The latter change affects a good chunk of the wiki; many pages now violate this wiki's policies, including pages created by now-inactive users. I am of the opinion that the now-rule-breaking images should be replaced, not deleted. Thus, I have decided we should have a community project to replace said images with original artwork. Here are the rules for making replacement images:
- The user must have been inactive for more than a year, and attempts to contact them need to have failed.
- If the user has been inactive for more than 2 years on all known platforms, it's okay to assume that they will not respond.
- The artwork to be replaced must actually be traced, recolored, or edited from other artwork (this includes screenshots from the show and the pngs used on the main wiki, and bases made from those)
- The replacement artwork cannot change any aspect of the character's design. If something is unclear in the image, or the description seems to contradict it, the description takes priority.
- If the image being replaced is a scene, such as a battle, the setting and all characters need to be represented correctly to the best of your ability.
- The replacement artwork must be of equal or better visual quality to the original; this means that, for example, if the original art has shading then the replacement art should as well, and you cannot use a dollmaker.
- The replacement art must be approved by an active administrator or bureaucrat.
I would like to encourage users to point out any pages or creators which have a lot of traced or recolored artwork so that they may be updated. Depending on how many there turn out to be, I may create an official list. I hope we can bring the whole wiki up to standards!
