The comic uses canon information up to and including Catch And Release, but has diverged greatly from there. Further, it uses an older interpretation of the Diamonds from before their true canon scale was ever shown.
Official Synopsis[]
The drill failed.
The Cluster is still growing.
And Yellow Diamond has arrived on Earth to retrieve Peridot and her geo-weapon.
Desperate, Steven offers himself and everything he can do to Yellow Diamond. In exchange, she will terminate the Cluster.
He now lives on her ship as they set course back to Homeworld.

- There was a point when many fans of New Home were asking why Moo didn't update Yellow Diamond's design to match canon and some were even demanding that she change it, and her response came in the form of an April Fool's Day comic.
