Synopsis[]
Cayden and Rose reach Watertown.
Begin[]
Pretty hot for December...[]
Rose and Cayden walked across the wasteland. "This isn't so bad. I mean, it's pretty hot for December, but I was never really a cold weather kind of person." Cayden commented, talking continually, as he had since Rose told him who she was. To be fair, it's been nearly four years since he had anyone to talk to who would talk back. Rose gestured the sign for quiet."Shush."
"Do you here someone" Cayden asked in a whisper. "Maybe." Cayden walked quietly alongside Rose for a few minutes..."Wait. You didn't here anything did you. You just wanted me to shut up"
"Cayden, no seriously, be quiet...your going to..."
"I HAVE BEEN LOCKED IN YOUR TEMPLE FOR FOUR YEARS WITH NO ONE TO TALK TO BUT A BOX OF ROCKS YOU WILL NOT..." Cayden was cut off by the big orange thing tackling him and running off.
Hot Pursuit[]
"Come back here with that!" Rose yelled as she chased the corrupted gem. "THAT HAS A NAME!" Cayden said offended. "Wait, why am I complaining? HELP!" The corrupted gem continued to run and Rose followed it until they reached a walled town.
"Jasper's back, raise the gate." Said a strangely familiar voice. A ruby and a human ran to a pair of winches as the gate rose and the corrupted gem carried Cayden, who by this point was pretending to be dead, and plopped him down in front of a familiar blue gem.
Lapis stared at the child that Jasper had brought in to water town. He seemed...somewhat familiar but she couldn't place him. More than anything he was clearly scared...and playing dead. Lapis shrugged and feigned sadness. "Well, he's dead, guess we should just throw his body in the furnace."
"I'M ALIVE! I'M ALIVE!" Cayden shot up like a rocket. "I am TOTALLY al...wait, Aunt Lapis?"
Lapis blinked. No one had called her that since..."Cayden? I kind of assumed you were, well..."
"Dead? Nah, my mom just locked me in the temple to..."
Jasper scratched at Cayden's backpack until the gems fell out.
"Stay away from those!" Cayden angrily lunged towards Jasper, but was stopped by Lapis.
"So...they still haven't reformed."
"Nope. I only got out because Rose showed up and opened the door."
"Rose? Where is..."
"Mayor Lapis! A gem is scaling the wall!"
"Never mind...found her.."
