Cinnabar (also known as the “Ninja Fox Gem” when corrupted) is an uncorrupted gem warrior formerly part of the crystal gem army. Prior to being retrieved by Rose Quartz, Garnet, Amethyst, and Pearl, he spent his life as a forest gaurdian. After being healed in Rose’s fountain by the diamonds, he found his home was turned into a fur farm and now devotes his time to fighting organized animal cruelty with his team, The Space Shephards.
Appearance
Prior to corruption, Cinnabar was a slim-built gem with a height similar to a pearl. He had a grayish-white complexion with reddish hair and brownish markings going up from his neck in a similar fashion to a Zircon’s hood. He also had a mustache the same color as his hair.
After corruption he was transformed into a fox like beast with ear-like horns and a muzzle, and similar features to a red panda such as a red ringed tail and red streaks below his eyes that once were his mustache. He eventually found himself living with a family of foxes in a forest where he would spend centuries protecting it from humans, until he was bubbled by Rose Quartz in what would be the early 20th century in our timeline.
After being uncorrupted, many of his Vulpine features remained, possibly due to him embracing his relationship with nature. Along with his horns and scrambled markings, his muzzle and tail remained.
His gem is located on his chest.
Personality
Cinnabar respects earth’s organic life, even more so than many humans. He also respects that humans are part of earth’s organic life despite having a low opinion of most of them at first. When having to fight a human, he never uses his Kunai because it gives him an unfair advantage. The only time he summons his Kunai against a human foe is to disarm their weapon. He prefers fighting humans fisticuffs but only if diplomacy fails. He has also taken to using human weapons in dire situations such as his gunfight with the animal trafficking cartel. Outside of battle, he is generally a kind gem, caring deeply for his friends, whether they be gem, animal, or human.
Abilities
Cinnabar possesses standard gem abilities despite coming out with the completely wrong gender for a gem.
Skillset
- Kunai Proficiency: Cinnabar’s gem weapon is a ninja’s Kunai. He can use it as both a melee and throwing weapon.
- Self Duplication: Cinnabar can make false clones of himself much like Nephrite’s ability to make other centipeetles when she was corrupted. Also much like Nephrite’s creature creation, his clones do not have gems.
- Martial Arts: Being a ninja warrior, Cinnabar is highly skilled at martial arts. This is his go to method of fighting when facing a human foe.
- Enhanced Agility: Cinnabars are designed for stealth and speed during combat.
- Wall Running: Cinnabar can run across and even up walls to make a quick escape.
- Wall Jumping: Cinnabar can jump across walls to make a quick escape and avoid obstacles.
- Parkour: Cinnabar can use his agility to get from point A to point B in a matter of seconds.
Unique abilities
- Fox Calls: After living as a fox with foxes for centuries, he has learned how to speak fox. He can imitate a fox perfectly in order to confuse hunting dogs.
- Tail Whip: Cinnabar can use his tail as a third appendage in combat.
